Led by vocalist and composer Stephanie Borgani, MÍMICA is a São Paulo - based chamber quartet whose music investigates the potential symmetries between the saxophone and the human voice. Through processes both improvised and through-composed, the group's two vocalists (Stephanie Borgani, Marina Marchi) and two saxophonists (Lucas Sales, Marlon Cordeiro) perform music written by Borgani, as well as taking comissions from other composers and composer collectives.

The quartet's conception was influenced by the languages of Brazilian instrumental music, jazz, and free improvisation—genres that offer, on one hand, the possibility of the voice as an instrumental sound and, on the other, woodwind sonorities that evoke vocal sounds. MÍMICA premiered in November 2024 at the Centro da Terra theater in São Paulo.

The group's debut album, a concert-length suite by Stephanie Borgani, is set for release in late 2026 and explores possibilities of camouflage, alternation, and the intertwining of these four timbres and their unique musical universes.
